Oh Happy Day, you have flowers! Now what?

If you received a wrapped bouquet, you want to get them into clean, cool (not cold) water ASAP. With sharp clean scissors, snip off about 1/4” of the stems at a 45° angle. Place in your vase full of water!

If you received a vase of flowers, find a spot out of direct sunlight and away from drafts (like heating or A/C vents) and enjoy! Your flowers arrived with fresh water, but you’ll want to change that every day or two. To do so, follow these instructions (video below as well!):

  • Fill a second vase or glass with water.

  • Gently grasp your bouquet with both hands just at the rim of the vase. Lift the bouquet into the new water.

  • Clean your vase and refill with new cool (not cold) water. Retransfer your bouquet to the vase.

If you received dried flowers, there’s not much to do, but they will last longest and keep their color best if you find a spot to admire them that is out of sunlight and drafts.

If you received a fresh wreath, hang outside for best longevity. Indoors, you can mist the wreath every couple days to keep the leaves fresh. But we also build our wreaths to dry well so they will still be lovely as anything as they start to fade!
